February Behind the Scenes

Throwing it back to a couple of months ago (how is it April already?), we were pleasantly surprised to have the opportunity to design for a few weddings in February! I wrote another post about a double header we had at High Line Car House earlier that month, and here’s a quick one with some behind the scenes shots and notes from our late February weddings.

Getting to envision these bridal bouquets with both Ryan and Jaime was so much fun! Jaime's vision included a lot of burgundy, wine, and dark accent colors and Ryan was so open to various types of product and colors.

Often when designing bouquets, we lay out all of the product to get a good look at the colors and textures we are working with. This is Ryan’s bouquet all laid out (minus the jasmine vine). We used some really intriguing ranunculus, dark fuchsia sweet pea, black double tulips, and several different types of parrot tulips. This is an incredible time of the year for tulips and parrots are absolutely breathtaking!

We laid out both completed bouquets in one of our favorite bouquet photo formats: on the ground (yeah, I even wrote a whole post about flat lay shots). And how great is that folded Iris Frou Frou Chic ribbon!?

I should also mention that when designing a bridal bouquet, it’s really important to have your trusty shop dog by your side. This is Irene! She’s not “technically” my dog, but that doesn’t stop any of us from having a LOT of photos of her on our phones...

Hi Irene! She's a good girl. And so is Johni.

Lucky for us,  Jenna Powers Photography had a shoot going on at the Zurie Studio while we were designing and she let us sneak in to take a quick photo of the model in a Gilded Social dress holding a bridal bouquet (Also check out those amazing earrings from One Story Shop)!

Jaime and Adam were married at Juniper and it was so incredible to see Juniper in action for the first time. If you haven't seen it yet, it's Columbus' newest venue with retractable glass ceilings and walls and an amazing view of downtown. Ryan and Cole were married in Cleveland at Redspace. We also got to design for Jenna's wedding there last year that was featured on White Magazine!

The feeling of seeing a bride holding her bouquet that we made for her is so amazing. I don't think that feeling will ever get old! It was such a blast being a part of these weddings and we are honored to also get to work with so many amazing vendors!
